Having awareness about process of admission in BTech is significant if you aspire to pursue career in the same field. Every engineering college does not follow a similar admission process to pursue BTech courses. Each one of them have different components to determine the eligibility of candidates. On the other hand, the engineering courses involves different specialisations like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering etc. Students are free to choose any specialisation that perfectly matches with their aim/ aspiration.

To know about the BTech admission process, an individual must understand the eligibility criteria, requirements and entrance exams. The course offers multiple engineering entrance exams at national and state level. Students can choose type of tests or exams depending on their requirements. Most of the people still confused about the terms B.E (Bachelor of Engineering) and BTech (Bachelor of Technology). Some colleges may offer B.E courses while other offers BTech.

Acceptability of Entrance Exam Score

Between various engineering colleges in India, the major difference in terms of admission process is acceptability of entrance test score. All the colleges do not accept the score of a single engineering entrance exam. The acceptability of entrance test score is different from college to college and state to state. JEE Main is the widely acceptable entrance test, and most of the Engineering Colleges in Jaipur accept JEE Mains score while completing the admission process. Besides, then state-level engineering entrance exams are popular among students. However, state-level engineering entrance exams are restricted to a specific state.

Multiple Exams and Score Acceptability

In some states, both national-level and state-level engineering entrance test is acceptable for entrance examinations. For instance, BTech admissions in Rajasthan are based on JEE Main. Also, in some states, 15% seats are reserved for students with JEE Main score. On the other hand, some states conduct a state-level engineering entrance exam to fill 85% of engineering seats under state quota.

Direct Admission without Entrance

In most private engineering colleges, students are more likely to get direct admission without an entrance test score. Such admissions will be treated as management quota admissions, and the fees collected for management quota admissions is higher that entrance-based admissions.

Centralised Admission Process without Entrance

Colleges in some states do not require entrance examinations. The admissions are purely based on12 merit. Also, at some places, the centralised admission process conducted for UG engineering admissions.

Best Engineering Entrance Exam for engineering admissions

Engineering aspirants must target an engineering entrance exam depending on their requirements. If they want to secure admission in government institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs and Government-Funded Technical Institutes, they must aim for JEE Main/ JEE Advanced. Such students must be ready to relocate or migrate to the desired engineering college.

For instance, if a student from other state than Rajasthan wants to take admission in Arya College of Engineering and IT, he/she must secure admission in the same college and must be willing to migrate to Jaipur or Kukas after getting admission through JEE Main. Individuals must stay in the hostels of respective institutes or seek paid accommodation outside the college campus. Students with such a mindset can aim for national-level engineering entrance exams like JEE Main or JEE Advanced.

With this, you can understand that we could not find out the best entrance exam for engineering courses, as different engineering exams are bound to certain requirements of students and parents.
